Welcome to my website!
My name is Lindsey Maier; I have been lucky enough to earn a living by showcasing my passion for photography since October 2002.
I am known for my unique vision, my fresh approach to modern photography and my ability to capture the essence of my subjects.
My unique studio environment seamlessly combines the art of creation with the art of production. I promise to tackle each assignment with passion, intensity and a sense of fun! My enthusiasm, creativity and mastery of both digital and traditional tools enable me to create unique and striking photography. Clients hire me for her contagious energy and engaging personality. It’s just this combination of professionalism and fun that gets me hired again and again.
I grew up in the country, in rural Ontario between Orillia and Gravenhurst; my parents, older sister and I, along with many animals lived in a little house with a little farm on a quiet little road.
During my high school years I first explored my interest in photography. Whether being “official” photographer for school events and yearbook, or during summer months working at local resorts in Muskoka, I could always been seen with camera in hand, capturing my vision of the world around me. After a stint modelling in Barrie I realized my destiny was behind the camera instead of in front of it. I felt I had the vision to turn ordinary life into a stage show of imagination and wanted to show that to the world.
My post-secondary education included the prestigious Applied Photography Course at Sheridan College in Oakville, where combining digital skill with surreal photography resulted in my final portfolio being given the highest accolades possible. Grad school at Capilano College in B.C. further honed my skills in computer animation and digital effects. During my time at Sheridan I was able to intern under world-famous photographer, Mary Ellen Mark in New York City.
In 2002, I opened my own photography business out of a high-end studio in Barrie, Ontario where I had the opportunity to be mentored and associated with Dermot Cleary, another photographer. Two years later I purchased the studio from Dermot, where I took it to the next level.
This September, I moved into a new house in the east-end of Barrie. I also moved my studio from the downtown Barrie location into my new home. This studio has 16 foot ceilings which enable me to take full control of all lighting situations. It also has a green screen wall for creative portraits and a unique marble floor which adds an extra something to my portraits. As always my studio is a high-end, high-quality professional photography studio; specializing in Portrait, Wedding, Industrial, Corporate and Advertising photography. I also photograph corporate events, whether a golf tournament, holiday party, or an important business function.
